Things I Would Tell My High-School Self

Hello, friends!

Wow, so the girl, meaning me, went from literally having no life to having so much on her mind. I began university and my Japanese class is so hardcore! I need to do so much extra study to catch up to everyone (which I am procrastinating from, I hate myself sometimes)

I also spend a while trying to find work and it made me realize how hard it is to find work, I found some recently (finally), which got me thinking of everything I could have done before to help my current situation. Those thoughts inspired this little blog post!

1. Be More Confident and Choose Friends Well

I entered high school with the confidence of nothing, and I think once I found the right people to surround myself with it quickly grew. After graduation, you realize who your friends really are since a lot of mine just disappeared or gave up contact over such little things. High school forces you to see a number of people everyday for five days a week, so it's really the best time to be social and grow as a person socially. I was shy from the very start and it was only in the last two years I started to open up and speak out more, which meant I had lost a lot of time to meet and make friends. And when you are thrown into the real world, you need as much support as you can get.

2. Find Work

Following from No.1, I was always thinking that I was in no position to work, I was scared of disappointing people or making a mistake and not good at dealing with strangers. I think if I properly focused on getting myself in check and found some work or experience, I would have made life so much easier for myself. I guess I couldn't help it at the time, but it's just... why did I do that to myself.

Let's be serious, while you are in school where everything is structured and planned out, it's easier for yourself if you find work and build your skills before moving out into the real world against hundreds of other applicants. That's what I would tell my younger self, very, very strongly.

3. Take Study Seriously

I wasn't too lazy when it came to schoolwork and studied well, I just didn't push my limits and tried to build good study habits and skills. After graduation, I didn't do very much over the holidays and didn't maintain what knowledge I had, so when I entered my Japanese class in university, I had to quickly resurrect all I learnt from last year. Comparing the study I have now to what I did last year, high school is so much easier and I had no reason to complaining about the workload last year :')

4. Make the Most of Each Day

Sitting around and being a potato probably is not the best way to spend my youth, it would have been nice, if I was not working or studying, that I would have gone out and did some kind of activity, whether it's volunteering or taking some extra study. Just to be more productive, you know?

5. Be Healthier and More Active

This probably sounds a little dumb to suggest I wish I was more healthier and active in high school, but if I was, I would have felt better on the inside and maybe the outside. If I learnt more about health and how to take care of myself, I would have had the positive results for a few years now and made more progress now. The earlier you start, the better of course.

These is a little reflection of mine, is there anything you wish you did when you were in school or any part of your life, previously? Of course, don't have too many regrets! Everything you have done before has helped bring you to where you are now :)

Enjoy life!

I Cut My Hair | 髪を切りました!

Hello, everyone!

I'm just quickly posting a little update, since I'm a little excited, about me cutting my hair! It's been a few years since I had a hair cut, but I am now determined to grow and take care of my hair!

My hair is naturally thin and curly, so it was a bit of hassle to manage. I felt like it had gotten unhealthy and I couldn't stand looking at it, haha. So, after some time I decided to get it cut to my shoulders. While searching online, there was a lot about how shorter hair suits my hair type more, since the hair above my shoulders is much thicker,

I wanted to try Sulli's hairstyle from 2013, 'Rum Pum Pum Pum' era. It's so cute, and I think it's somethhing realistic I can achieve.

Of course, knowing my hair, it would still need a lot of taming! Challenge accepted, though! I want to learn more about taking care of/styling hair and finding how to manage it better. Now that I have less hair, I should make some progress, right?

I'm super excited!

Please excuse my no make up face and unstyled hair, it just would be pointless to make this post without an after photo.

Anyone have any tips for taming frizzy hair or how to style it? If you do, let me know!

Enjoy life!

How my interest in Japanese and Korean Culture helped me ( ´∀`)☆

Growing up in Australia, I was exposed to many different cultures and backgrounds, since Australia is a very multicultural country.

I'm half Russian, half Australian and for a large part of my life, I was listening to different music from all around the world because of my parents interest in it. At some point, I noticed how different this was to a lot of my classmates since they predominantly listen to American music.

After I was introduced to the Internet, I could learn more about music and develop my own taste. For quite some time I was trying to adapt to everyone else's music taste and try to match that but I realized that was pointless and decided to do otherwise.

Halfway through high school I got an interest in anime/manga, which grew to me loving Japanese fashion and culture. Then, my love for the Korean culture began randomly.

I remember watching Michelle Phan's tutorial for 'How to look like a KPOP Star' and heard Girl's Generation's The Boys for the first time. It sparked my interest and I downloaded it.

I'm not too sure what happened after that, but my love for KPOP grew a lot in the past year as well as for their culture, fashion and shows. The politeness, how well and simply they look after their appearance and catchy fun music is something that really suits me about Korea.

________________ ♥ ________________

Since it matched my personality, it kind of helped me to grow as a person in a way. I don't know really. All of my interests And experiences have helped me grow as a person but since I spend a lot of time listening to music and wearing clothes, it's taught me and inspired me a lot.

1. To look after my body and health

I went to Japan last year and it was incredible how young and fit everyone was o,o I saw a mother pushing a stroller and she looked like a supermodel.

My family is quite healthy, we don't eat fast food or smoke and all that. (Of course, it's anyone's decision and I'm not saying that what I do or think is the only right thing or opinion).

It's no joke how well KPOP/JPOP singers look.  The diets of people in Asia are quite healthy to begin with and they're quite active. Of course, it's not healthy to aspire to look or act like someone else and to drastically change your diet. But, I still was inspired to do my best to improve myself, my lifestyle and work hard as well. I don't want to use the excuse that "I'm skinny therefore I can eat whatever I want" anymore. I want to do little things to make myself feel good on the outside and inside.

2. Working harder in school and appreciating little things

At first when I saw these idols, I thought that their life must be ideal because of their popularity and beauty. But, I soon realized that they give up a lot in return. They can't go out in public, or go to school as much, or sleep and eat well sometimes. Now, I appreciate all those things and realize how I shouldn't take school or things like sleep for granted anymore because I am living a normal life.

I can sleep in, I can study new things, I can go outside freely and safely, I can live a normal life. That's why, I wanted to start to get up earlier and make the most of out of each day.

3. How I dress

Fashion is interesting as it is so easy to express yourself through fashion. Harajuku in Japan really fascinate me as there were SO many different styles there and everyone was accepted. The elegant, reserved fashion style of most Koreans and Japanese is something that I really enjoy. It suits my personality and taste and it felt so nice to find a style I feel so comfortable in!

How has your hobby or interests influenced you? Do you see yourself having the same interests in the future?

Enjoy life!

Winter Holidays

It's winter here and it feels like everywhere else is summer :') I deal really badly with the cold, I even get cold in summer. At least I can wear all my sweaters, stockings and boots that I have haha!

I have two weeks of holidays from school and so far I have rested a little too much ._. I went to see Blended on Thursday last week with my friends, and omg, I didn't think it'd that good. I was a bit skeptical, but it's a pretty good movie! I also had more sweets than I should have. I need to eat better now that it's the holidays, I will keep to my healthier lifestyle now that I've started months ago. My parents bought me lots of fruit so I need to finish it all :')

I got some new earrings, I'm so excited! I lost one of my opal ones last year at camp and I was so upset, no one understood >:

It's my best friend's birthday at the end of the week, I'm so excited! I got her earrings too, I hope she'll like them. Before that, we are going for lunch tommorow with everyone. I'm pretty excited :)

I'll post again soon~  Take care!

My Introduction (・∀・ )

I've had this blog set up for a while now and although it's under construction still while I figure out the theme and such, I want to start posting! SO! Hello everyone who may stumble across this blog and wonder what it's about, well my mind is full of thought all the time and I thought I'd share them.
I am half Russian/Australian, studying Japanese, a lover of cute things and slowly learning more about fashion and beauty like any normal teenage girl, so I hope I can share and review what I find here~ As a part of my personality and wanting to spread positivity, I go hard out in giving advice and helping out whenever I can, but I no longer want to just restrict it to just my circle of friends, I want to share what I say just in case it may help or brighten up someone's day!
 (o´ω`o)

♥ ♥

I guess I should start by introducing myself and who I am properly- I'm Nina, and my style, outlook on life and quirkiness didn't come overnight. I was just thinking today, that a few years ago I was a total tomboy who was nervous all the time and now I am almost the complete opposite. I feel like I have two personalities: there is the Nina who is always smiling, energetic, positive and saying random things, and, there is the Nina who can be serious, quiet and listen to whatever needs to be said. There is so much more to that, but I don't want to ramble on about myself~

Halfway through high school I was introduced to the anime Skip Beat! and fell in love with the anime world~ It sort of grew to my interest in Japanese/Korean fashion which helped develop my style, my love for KPOP and their cultures. I dress so girly and have love bright colours but coming from a family who has gone to road trips to the middle of nowhere in Australia, I'm not scared of getting my hands dirty.

I love tea (hence the blog title), animals, food, scenery, the internet, anime/manga, cute things and clothes and making people happy. I think I spend an unhealthy amount of time 'internet window shopping'. ಠ_ಠ  I can go on! I hope that once I'm happy with all my customizing, I'll be posting reviews, helpful things like advice, my thoughts and activities and anything really~ I want to try a bit of everything. If you read this and have anything you want to see or have any ideas, let me know! ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

This is a bit all over the place but I wanted to give you a brief intro on me and although I have no idea where I'm going right now with all of this, hello everyone and always enjoy life

Nina
