Worry-less Wednesday: Feeling Like You Are Not Good Enough

Hello, lovelies!

I can't remember the last time I wrote a post like this, but now I know what I want to write! Today, I want to write about not feeling like you're good enough.

So, I recently got back the results from my first Japanese exam, and I didn't too well. It's only a small one but it still made me lose all hope in myself for a little bit. I kind of zone dout because I wasn't too sure how to feel.

You see, I grew having so many characterize me as the smart girl in the class throughout primary school, and when it got to mid high school, and now, university, I feel like I can no longer meet those expectations which is quite burdensome.

In today's society, we have lots of burdens: we need to look good, speak good, have a good education, a good job, communicate well and so much more! How can we possible tick each box and say we are perfect? Exactly, we can't. And that easily leads us to not feeling like we are good enough or meet the standards that are set.

How can there even be standards in a world and society like this, that is so full of diversity and different backgrounds? We are all different - that's a well known fact - and for that reason, there is no use in comparing yourself with anyone else.

Rather than focusing on what you can't do, focus on what you can do and how you can improve, for yourself, not anyone else.

I'm so glad at some point I decided to be healthier and be more responsible, in order to become a better person, for myself. It's a good feeling! Definitely try it out! If you focus your energy that you would spend on criticizing yourself, into improving yourself - you will see a change and will get positive results!

Remember, always surround yourself with people that give support you and bring the best out of you!

I believe in you!

Enjoy life!

Worry-less Wednesday: Finding a Balance

Hello, lovelies!

Wow, okay! So! Things got just a bit busy for me these past few weeks, I'm surprised I managed to squeeze some posts in between working and studying! But you know, I stayed positive through it all because I thought to myself, I can't be the only one going through this or has gone through this!

I ended up dropping one of my courses to take a bit of the stress of my shoulders, I feel so bad that I had to come to that decision, but it inspired me to write this post and it was what I felt to be the right decision!

Everyone, please always put your mental and physical well being first! I had gotten stressed in the first couple of weeks and had a breakdown because I was trying to deal with anything on my own. I am quite stubborn, haha.

Always seek out advice with school and anything else that might be causing you unnecessary stress or problems! There is so much support out there for you and many resources to help you cope. There is a very high chance someone has been in the same situation as you!

If it helps, write out a schedule or plan! That way you have something to refer to and follow, developing a routine that you will get used to and cope with! That way you can also see how you can dedicate an adequate amount of time to get everything you need done!

  • Set goals and achieve all you need to do bit by bit!
  • Plan how you will go about your tasks and where you will fit in the important things!
  • Reflect on how you do and try to improve everyday!
  • Find support in your classmates, peers or workmates! They will help you and if you work together, you will overcome obstacles together!

Remember if you do small meaningless things, it's harder to find time and room to complete the bigger tasks, but if you do the bigger ones first, the smaller ones will fall into place, as seen in the following video:

Has anything your life caused you stress? How did you cope and find balance? I am always here if you need to talk to someone or need advice!

Enjoy life!

Things I Would Tell My High-School Self

Hello, friends!

Wow, so the girl, meaning me, went from literally having no life to having so much on her mind. I began university and my Japanese class is so hardcore! I need to do so much extra study to catch up to everyone (which I am procrastinating from, I hate myself sometimes)

I also spend a while trying to find work and it made me realize how hard it is to find work, I found some recently (finally), which got me thinking of everything I could have done before to help my current situation. Those thoughts inspired this little blog post!

1. Be More Confident and Choose Friends Well

I entered high school with the confidence of nothing, and I think once I found the right people to surround myself with it quickly grew. After graduation, you realize who your friends really are since a lot of mine just disappeared or gave up contact over such little things. High school forces you to see a number of people everyday for five days a week, so it's really the best time to be social and grow as a person socially. I was shy from the very start and it was only in the last two years I started to open up and speak out more, which meant I had lost a lot of time to meet and make friends. And when you are thrown into the real world, you need as much support as you can get.

2. Find Work

Following from No.1, I was always thinking that I was in no position to work, I was scared of disappointing people or making a mistake and not good at dealing with strangers. I think if I properly focused on getting myself in check and found some work or experience, I would have made life so much easier for myself. I guess I couldn't help it at the time, but it's just... why did I do that to myself.

Let's be serious, while you are in school where everything is structured and planned out, it's easier for yourself if you find work and build your skills before moving out into the real world against hundreds of other applicants. That's what I would tell my younger self, very, very strongly.

3. Take Study Seriously

I wasn't too lazy when it came to schoolwork and studied well, I just didn't push my limits and tried to build good study habits and skills. After graduation, I didn't do very much over the holidays and didn't maintain what knowledge I had, so when I entered my Japanese class in university, I had to quickly resurrect all I learnt from last year. Comparing the study I have now to what I did last year, high school is so much easier and I had no reason to complaining about the workload last year :')

4. Make the Most of Each Day

Sitting around and being a potato probably is not the best way to spend my youth, it would have been nice, if I was not working or studying, that I would have gone out and did some kind of activity, whether it's volunteering or taking some extra study. Just to be more productive, you know?

5. Be Healthier and More Active

This probably sounds a little dumb to suggest I wish I was more healthier and active in high school, but if I was, I would have felt better on the inside and maybe the outside. If I learnt more about health and how to take care of myself, I would have had the positive results for a few years now and made more progress now. The earlier you start, the better of course.

These is a little reflection of mine, is there anything you wish you did when you were in school or any part of your life, previously? Of course, don't have too many regrets! Everything you have done before has helped bring you to where you are now :)

Enjoy life!

Worry-less Wednesday: Entering University? What am I Doing?

Yello~

I really can't believe it, but very soon, I will be attending university. For so long I was so lost that I thought I would need to defer for a year and find my place. But, I am very glad that I didn't since I am bored being at home already, another year would drive me crazy.

Whenever teachers would go around the class, asking each student what they wanted to do after school, everyone would know what they wanted to do, but I didn't. This stressed me out beyond anything.

I wasn't particularly good at anything, I was creative and had a keen interest in languages, but how on earth would this turn into a career? Nevertheless, I was determined to pursue something that relates to my interests. After all...

Long story short, I am now going to be studying Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Japanese/International Relations. Boom.

But, enrolling and preparing my life as a university of student has probably been one of the most confusing experiences of my life. All of a sudden, I'm alone in front of this computer screen, enrolling and trying to understand all these new terms.

Especially since my course is made up of many little courses that you put together. It was so confusing, and this is coming from someone who did high school maths
(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻

Remember, you are not as as alone as you might think. I need to realize that sometimes, haha. There are plenty of resources and support out there, don't be afraid to use it!

After all, we are now living in the age where internet provides almost everything and sometimes, things are detailed step by step of what you need to do. Go to the website of your university, or more specifically, the faculty you will be studying, and there should be contact details that you can use if you need help. I emailed and submitted questions when I needed help, and they got back to me very quickly with great help, and if I still needed help, they offered to talk me through it over the phone. I even got a call randomly before any of this from a lady at the Student Support who checked whether I was managing okay, which I wasn't, so she was basically an angel who descended through a phone call to me.

Don't be scared to contact them when you are confused, since different courses and managing your timetable can be quite confusing! Use whatever you need to get you where you need to be. There are apps to help you remember your timetable, and everything!

My dad also suggested to me to practice travelling to university, I have to take the bus for two hours for example, so that you know how to get there properly and on time! I had an orientation week which was a perfect opportunity for me to get to know the route I need to take to university and become confident in taking it.

University or college is another stage in our life, a new one that will allow us to find our place in the world. Everything is not set in stone, you can change what you study if you wish to take on another path in life. So, don't worry! There is always hope and new opportunities will always come along.

Enjoy life!

Worry-less Wednesday: A Number Does Not Define You

Hello, lovelies!

How have you all been? If you are a Year 12 graduate in Australia, you must have just received your results and OP which is what inspired my post today. I wasn't really excited and I was a little disappointed, but I didn't it let me get me down since I knew I would get still get to do the courses I want. I chose creative type of courses, and my mum wasn't too happy about that, thinking there is no potential in studying Japanese/Art.

I got a bit angry, I was thinking "Don't underestimate the creative industries, since so many things rely on people with creative minds".

Oh well! There is one thing I will remember, and that is on graduation day, one of my teachers told me to not let anyone decide for me or push me into something I don't want to do. I will always remember that.

So! Everyone, I want to remind you to not let numbers define you! Don't let age define you. Don't let height or weight define you. Don't let your school results define you. Don't ... let the number of push ups you can do define you?

What define's you, is only you. I think a lot of the time, we forget that. We grew up following rules and guidelines, yes, they are to guide us, but I think in reality our actions is what shows what kind of person we are. No one is going to know what OP I got if they first meet me.

You are all beautiful and full of potential, okay? Never forget. Have a Merry Christmas!

Enjoy life!

Senior Year is Hectic

Hello my lovelies!

Wow, this past term was stressful. Even though I was expecting the amount of schoolwork I have to do to be really large, the term starts of so calm and easy going and then BOOM! You have four exams and a few assignments due in one day.

I still have schoolwork and other things to do over the holidays, but at least I can relax now, I'm so happy this term is over. Now it's just a few more until my 18th and then graduation!

Ohmygod, I will be an adult. I don't think I am ready. I don't know what to do. But you know, I am not the first person to now know what they want to do with their life. I know that so I still have hope. I have barely live my life and seen the world, how would I know?

We all will go several different phases in our lives and try different things before we find our place in the world: don't be discouraged if you are unsure!

Now that the worst part is over, hopefully I can post more frequently and do more reviews of different stores etc when I can actually make a Paypal account >.>

What to expect:

Spreepicky Review
KPOP Album Haul
Markets Haul
Lifestyle posts

Enjoy life!

Worry-less Wednesday: Speak Up/Leaving People Out

Hello lovelies!

So! Due to recent experiences, I have been inspired to do another blog post that's a bit advice-y, more about friendship really.

High school seems to be a bit of a learning curve when it comes to friendships, especially since my circle of friends has changed quite a bit over the four-five years. Recently, I learned how important it is to speak up and be honest with what you think. I've always been sort of quiet and more of a listener/give advice person when people come to me with their problems rather than going to them directly and asking. This has been a problem for me since I need to learn to take initiative and solve the problem directly rather than waiting for the opportunity to do so.

This became clearer to me when there was some miscommunication and false rumors between my friends within my group which led to leaving people out and having tension between people in our group. I kept telling myself I should just sit everyone down and talk about it and clear everything up (since I'm always the neutral party). I spoke to the people affected to get their side of the story but it wasn't until we got some info that someone outside of the group was spreading these rumors and everything was solved very quickly.

Everything could have been solved straight away of we were all honest about our feelings and no misunderstandings would have been created.

This is why it is important to speak up when something feels wrong - when I heard these rumors I straight away though "There is no way she would done that."

It is most likely better to get your feelings out and argue about it than have everything kept a secret and being angry/upset in secret. Then you'll solve the issue, or at least know that someone is angry and why, rather than treat someone badly or leaving them out and they don't know why. That's a much worse feeling - not knowing why.

As my friend said herself, she just wanted to know what she did wrong to make people leave we out, especially since it turns out to be nothing.

Everyone, lets treasure the people close to us and open up to them but by bit! We are never alone in this world and sometimes some things can't be done on our own :) If you open up and argue a bit - that's something to overcome and make the friendship stronger. We need to be kinder to each other in this world. Lets do our best! ^^

My Formal/My Realizations (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Hiya everyone, I hope you're well~

So I had my formal on Thursday (prom) and the whole experience is kind of ... weird for me. I don't know why I'm writing about this but I kind of need it out of my system.

Formal is something some girls in my grade planned half a year or more in advance and then there were some who bought dresses a week or so before. I left my planning a little late because I'm seriously so shy I was afraid of asking around to plan hair and make up etc. But, I had this vision of the kind of dress and found what I wanted online but didn't want to risk it. I ended up getting a beautiful Jovani dress, the same brand I was looking at online, and the store said no one from my school has come. Turns out I had the same dress as a friend of mine but a different colour. And the whole time I was hoping to stand out and be unique.

I did get the basic things organised but because the dress cost a lot I didn't want to go all out with nails and accessories, but I felt like I was missing out because of this. I wasn't feeling the hype everyone was feeling: counting down the days till formal, making plans and everything. Even the lady who was doing my hair noticed how chilled I was. A few hours before the actual event I had this feeling that I didn't want to go anymore. The day was so stressful since I needed last minute alterations and my makeup was done later than expected so I couldn't take as many photos and rushed outside without being completely ready.

Everyone was so beautiful that night and arriving was fun. I got an award for the neatest handwriting, woop woop! Everyone was taking photos with family and all their friends, but I realised that I was kind of just there. I sound like I have no friends, I do xD I arrived with my closest friends who I had already taken photos with (I didn't have a date :3). But I still felt as though I was more involved with other friendship circles throughout the year, I guess I was wrong.

Throughout the night and then afterwards when the photos and partying had ended, (I looked so bad in them it was like I was forcing a smile). It's like my confidence flew out the window when formal is meant to do the opposite. I've come to realize a few things, I haven't gone into detail about the formal because right now it depresses me, and I know why I didn't feel the hype, it was just leading me to feeling like this.

I'm usually not like this, I'm usually so positive and happy but I'm feeling the 'post-formal depression' in a different way from everyone else. After this year, it seems like everyone can easily forget me and I don't want that. I try my hardest to be kind and helpful to everyone, but I end up alone. I don't want to feel like this because I've become the person who is so confident and happy that people look to me to be reassured, to be cheered up and that I can bear anyone's problems and help them. I'm fine with being single, I'll help you through your relationships. I'm fine with how I look, I'll help you feel better. So much more. I can't afford  to feel like this, I love to help people, but why do I feel so insignificant? Is that all I can do, help bring people up and then end up like this after a night where we should all feel special and worthy? D:

I don't know how I got from talking about my formal to this, it's just... I don't know. I don't want to keep it inside so I'll just post it, I'm sorry :') Has anyone ever felt like this? High school is only one part of our lives, but right now it's the part I'm living and it's over in less than 6 months. I want to try harder to make myself known and to keep my friends close.

I will forever continue to make people happy because it's a belief of mine that one day, somehow, I'll find happiness too through these actions. I watched as half my grade got drunk and those who I thought were innocent were doing who knows what, and felt like I was so innocent and didn't want to grow up anymore. I'm so behind. But I can't just change who I am. At the very least maybe I'll be remembered for being nice.

This is my second blog post and it's not helpful whatsoever, well done Nina :')  But I will hopefully post something that is more cheerful and my usual self!

Remember, if you're reading this, enjoy life and make every moment count!
